MasterCard, the other 10 investors have invested in Digital Currency Group

MasterCard, Bain Capital Ventures, Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce and other large companies have taken part in the investment round, announced by Digital Currency Group.

Its founder Barry Silbert has recently sold his digging to develop software for stock trading SecondMarket stock exchange NASDAQ. For most investors, Digital Currency Group is the first investment in the crypto market.

Digital Currency Group was established in 2015 and makes strategic investments. To date, it has invested for more than fifty projects in seventeen countries. The company aims "to establish ties and cooperation between businesses, the traditional financial institutions and investors in new financial technologies."

One of the start-ups, which has already invested Digital Currency Group, is crypto Exchange ShapeShift, allows users to exchange e-currency, without going through the registration process.

According to the founder of the investment group, Barry Silbert, in the coming year Digital Currency Group is planning to invest another about two dozen startups. He compared it with the investor SoftBank and Berkshire Hathaway, which have the ability to "create a company to invest in the company to buy the company."

"We are the same. We are firmly focused on this particular industry ", - quotes Silbert to Bloomberg agency.
